"The Man Who Taught Me How to Play..."

This photo is very special to me. I took this photo of my grandfather's hand as we played a game of cribbage. I visited my grandparents one last time before heading off to school, getting lunch with my grandma, and helping my grandpa with computer problems, as well as playing a game of cribbage as we always do.  He taught me to play on summer vacation when I was probably about 7. Now, 14 years later, we still play. Sadly, this time, I beat him.

"Self-Portrait"

I thought this would be an interesting play on perspective, however, because I was out of the normal focus area, I had to manually focus this photo, and it wasn't perfect. However, I do think it gives the photo a little something special.

"Eye"

This is really an interesting reflection of how your eyes perceive color with only a few colors as reference points. Elizabeth's eye is blue on the rim and fades to almost a burnt orange tone, but without any other reference (being that her face is black and white), it seems a LOT more orange or brown.  Its quite interesting how taking away other colors changes the ones that are left.

I'll figure this day out...

I saw these colors at the local Panera Bread and had to take a photo. Now I'm just wondering if this photo is not level all the way across because of barrel distortion or because of the tiling job...

"St. Brennan's Inn"

This photo was taken at about 8:00 pm. It was terribly cold, and after less than 30 minutes out in the cold, I couldn't even push the shutter trigger down. I picked this photo just because I thought the sky looked incredible.

Puppy!

"Sleep Puppy"

This photo was taken at my best friend's house. Her puppy (granted 6 year old puppy is still a puppy to me) was curled up in an adorable ball on the couch and sleeping away. I couldn't help but take a photo.

Full disclosure, this photo takes place of any photo on this date that I should have taken but didn't. But at least there's a cute puppy!
