Day 130

11/18/10
"Apartment Lounging"

A quick picture of my roommate watching "Willy Wonka" on TV. He was happy to finally make an appearance.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 129

11/17/10
"Travel Reading"

Another interesting perspective, this time of some travel guides in the College Library.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Day 129

11/16/10
"Badgers take Flight"

I took this photo at the UW Mens Basketball game versus North Dakota. I noticed there that I seemed to have a better concept of photography than some of the folks with press passes, though some had more expensive lenses. I really enjoyed photographing the game and I might try to find a way to do this more often.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Day 128

11/15/10
"Fall Winds Down"

This photo was taken after a light snow the night before. It was a great day out and the sky was wonderful and made for a great HDR shot that played off the color of the building in the foreground.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Day 127

11/14/10
"The First Heavy Snow"

This photo was taken from the balcony of the Chapel near my apartment. It was great to see the snow, though I know I might hate it soon.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Day 126

11/13/10
"Reverse Fisheye"

I thought this was a cool way to get a picture in some kind of fisheye effect, but with a reverse image and no lens. Taken outside of the Chapel near my apartment.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Day 125

11/12/10
"Keys at Night"

A quick photo of my Macbook Pro's keyboard lit up at night.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Day 124

11/11/10
"Rail Jam"

Tonight I had two big events to attend. First, the culmination of months of work, as the Reel Rock Film tour came to the Memorial Union at the University of Wisconsin - Madison thanks to work from the Wisconsin Union Directorate, the WUD Film committee, my friend Todd Olson, and some work by myself. But beforehand, the annual Hoofer Ski and Snowboard/Wisconsin Union Rail Jam on the Union Terrace. A large volume of snow was shipped in and area snowboarders and skiiers pulled out all their tricks (within reason) to wow the crowd and the judges.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Day 123

11/10/10
"Ties"

A quick look at some of the ties I own laid out while I chose an outfit for an interview coming up.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Day 122

11/9/10
"Change we Can all Believe In"

A nice perspective shot of all the change in my change jar.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Day 121

11/8/10
"Imposter"

Full disclosure, this photo is from 11/11, when I realized I forgot a picture for the first time in the project.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Day 120

11/7/10
"Fall on State Street"

I love the colors of fall.

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Day 119

11/6/10
"Sunset Over the Kohl Center Lawn (HDR)"

One of my favorite HDR shots so far. Taken as the sun went down near the home of Badgers Basketball and Hockey, the Kohl Center.

Friday, November 5, 2010

Day 118

11/5/10
"Bridge"

An interesting perspective on my first guitar.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

Day 117

11/4/10
"View from my Window (HDR)"

Not much to say. Another day where I looked for an interesting view without leaving my room. Not creative, but decently beautiful, in my opinion.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Day 116

11/3/10
"Ornamental"

After an hour and wandering around and shooting, I found that there there was nothing more striking than this Jaguar hood ornament. I'm sure thats what they were going for, weren't they?

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Day 115

11/2/10
"Election Day"

Today was a turning point for a lot of the country's public institutions. After winning a large majority in the House and Senate, as well as the Presidency two years ago, the Democrats faltered somewhat. I spent a long day voting and then following the results as they came in from around the country. The result was a small majority in the Senate and a minority in the House. Additionally, one of the greatest Senators of our time, Russ Feingold, was defeated by a relative nobody, and the state of Wisconsin turned heavily "Red".

Full disclosure. I am posting this on the night of January 25th, right before the State of the Union address by President Barack H. Obama. It will be interesting to hear his plans for the future, given the rough state of the economy. After his excerpts were released earlier, new Speaker of the House, Sen. John Boehner (R) said that his plans as of now aren't going to be enough. Time will tell.

Monday, November 1, 2010

Day 114

11/1/10
"Logos"

Not a lot of time today, so just a quick picture of my computer decked out in my favorite companies' logos.

Sunday, October 31, 2010

Day 113

10/31/10
"Jack O'Lantern"

Here is another pumpkin-carving photo, this time of my roommate Chase's more traditional carving.

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Day 112

10/30/10
"Team Rocket"

Tonight was the infamous Freak Fest on State Street in Madison. State Street floods with people dressed up for Halloween, and there were plenty of great pictures that I took. I chose two of my friends who were dressed up with the group as Pokemon characters.

Friday, October 29, 2010

Day 111

10/29/10
"The Family that Trick or Treats Together..."

State Street was bustling today with people walking up and down the street to local businesses trick-or-treating with their kids. I have to give a lot of respect to the parents for getting involved as well!

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Day 110

10/28/10
"Urban Bokeh"

This was a fun shot taken outside of the Urban Outfitters on State Street. They had multi-colored Christmas lights and I just cranked the lens out of focus and shot a few frames.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Day 109

10/27/10
"Obnoxious Popcorn"

I really can't stand styrofoam. It makes me cringe worse than nails on a chalk board. Not even close, its ridiculous.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Day 108

10/26/10
"Pictures from a Movie"

This is a picture I took while setting up for my first ever time lapse, this time of the crazy wind blowing the clouds through. The video is posted below. I posted on Vimeo the following:

"While trying to figure out how to present one of the most windy days seen in Wisconsin in my Project365 photography project, I decided to try out a little bit of Time Lapse. I used a freeware program and didn't mix in any audio. I also thought that the frames per second was high, but its the slowest I can do with that program. I might upgrade to Quicktime Pro and try again some other time, with the intention of combining a lot of these sometime."

Monday, October 25, 2010

Day 107

10/25/10
"Reflecting on Time"

A shot of my alarm clock and the reflection off my desk.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Day 106

10/24/10
"Companion Cube Pumpkin"

My roommate Mike cut this pumpkin in the shape of a companion cube from the video game Portal.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Day 105

10/23/10
"Nights on the Highway"

I drove around a little bit to get some food with a friend and took this shot while driving down the highway.

Friday, October 22, 2010

Day 104

10/22/10
"LIVE"

A reminder to myself to just live my life.

(Shot in one exposure. Out of all the ones I took, this was the best, though obviously could be better. Its the thought that was important to me. I did this at 3:30am too, without a tripod.)

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Day 103

10/21/10
"Juxtapose"

I had a lot of studying to do, and was taking pictures of the stacks in College Library when I saw this leaf sitting on the ground behind me. It was so out of place, I just had to take a photo.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Day 102

10/20/10
"Raspberry Mocha"

This is a great shot of my favorite drink at the coffee shop down the street. I stopped by to study with a friend (or rather, have him explain game theory to me).

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Day 101

10/19/10
"Notes"

All I'll say about this is that you really can't expect me to take a great shot when I have a big midterm the next day.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Day 99

10/17/10
"Disc-o"

Here I played with focus and the way light reflects off the back of some Playstation 3 games. Not much to say, but an interesting look in my opinion.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

Day 98

10/16/10
"History"

Though I got a little flack from security for bringing my camera to the UW vs OSU game (supposedly I had a tripod, though I told her I didn't, and showed her; additionally, ESPN "doesn't like people with big cameras in the stands", though my camera is about the size of a large point and shoot, with only an 18-55mm lens; and that she was just warning me, to which I told her, I wasn't breaking any posted rules, there were no complaints, most people were interested about my shooting, and that I was not going to be leaving, and she wasn't going to taken my camera), I managed to at least capture an amazing few shots after all was said and done. We had been warned over and over that running on to the field after the game would result in an arrest in accordance with Madison public ordinance, I don't think they had quite the man power needed to take on this number of fans reveling in such an amazing upset.

Friday, October 15, 2010

Day 97

10/15/10

"Day Moon"

Disregarding the small speck on the lens, I think this is a pretty nice HDR shot with a lot of different things that catch your eye, from the fire escape, to the building in the back, and finally to the moon.

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Day 96

10/14/10

"A Fall Ride"

This photo was taken on the Lakeshore path on the UW campus during a nice fall day, where folks were enjoying the weather and going out for a walk or a ride.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Update

Hey Everyone. I just thought I'd let you know I'm still taking photos. I've taken them every day still and once I have time I'll get back on uploading. I just have a lot on my plate right now, mostly school work, and I've deleted all forms of social networking except this one. No Facebook. No Twitter (not that I have used that in a year). You're my last connection here. Hope you still enjoy.

Day 95

10/13/10
"Velvet"

A bit of focus problems is turned into a velvety feel with a little bit of Photoshop importing magic after I put my RAW file through processing.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Day 94

10/12/10
"Dichotomy"

This is actually probably a new favorite photo I've taken. Another photo from right outside my apartment.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Day 93

10/11/10

"Pumpkin Patch"

This photo is another great photo that I took without leaving my apartment. My thanks goes out to Chase for bringing in things to photograph, even if thats not what you meant to do.

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Day 92

10/10/10
"Checkerboard"

Another black and white photo of a checkerboard in the park across the street from my apartment. I actually really like this photo as one of my top few favorite photos thus far.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Day 91

10/9/10
"Weary Traveler"

Another day where I didn't have much motivation to go out and take photos, but I liked this perspective a lot because it was kind of unusual.

Friday, October 8, 2010

Day 90

10/8/10
"Twilight Over Madison"

This shot was taken from atop my apartment building toward the campus in Madison.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Day 89

10/7/10
"Bascom's Banner"

This photo hints at how much the summer is trying to hang on in Madison, but it will soon be the middle of fall, leading to the beginning of winter.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Day 87

10/5/10
"Dusk"

Another photo of the capitol, with color tones that just scream fall.

Monday, October 4, 2010

Day 86

10/4/10
"Overload"

I called this "Dirty Laundry" on Facebook, but looking back it, I think overload is appropraite for a title. I likely had about 3 weeks of tshirts and socks in one washer. It was late, I was having a bad day (I distinctly remember) and it was just an easy shot to take.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Day 85

10/3/10
"Harvestfest"

I won't make any personal commentary on this, but today was Harvestfest, an annual get-together and march for the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana. Surprisingly enough, there were a large number of people marching that were of a somewhat older age. Additionally, I can attest to a strong pungent smell and a large cloud of smoke at their meeting area. Is anyone surprised?

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Day 84

10/2/10
"Leaves in the Breeze"

Not the easiest thing to take a picture of in dusk, but I just love fall and the colors that come with it.

Friday, October 1, 2010

Day 83

10/1/10
"Needlework"

I really don't have much to say about this, because I don't know anything about what this really is. There were a bunch of brightly colored crocheted or knitted pieces all over this bus stop, and though I don't know the reason, it was something interesting to chronicle.

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Day 82

9/30/10
"University Club in Fall"

Continuing with my theme of fall, I decided to just quick take a picture of the UW-Madison's University Club, with its beautiful brick facade that goes so well with the colors of fall.
