Day 115

11/2/10
"Election Day"

Today was a turning point for a lot of the country's public institutions. After winning a large majority in the House and Senate, as well as the Presidency two years ago, the Democrats faltered somewhat. I spent a long day voting and then following the results as they came in from around the country. The result was a small majority in the Senate and a minority in the House. Additionally, one of the greatest Senators of our time, Russ Feingold, was defeated by a relative nobody, and the state of Wisconsin turned heavily "Red".

Full disclosure. I am posting this on the night of January 25th, right before the State of the Union address by President Barack H. Obama. It will be interesting to hear his plans for the future, given the rough state of the economy. After his excerpts were released earlier, new Speaker of the House, Sen. John Boehner (R) said that his plans as of now aren't going to be enough. Time will tell.
